Do not wear outside the shoulder pads, without shoulder pads, or with pads that contain built-in neck rolls or helmet restrictions that restrict normal head movement (unless approved by a competent physician or sports medicine professional). Do not wear the Cowboy Collar by itself or with other equipment, if it interferes with normal flexion and extension and side movement of your head, especially if the equipment forces your head into a downward position. This may increase the risk of head and neck injury, which may lead to paralysis or death. Such severe head and neck injuries may occur accidentally while playing football.
