The NEW OA LITE by DonJoy is ideally suited for adult patients with mild unicompartmental osteoarthritis who engage in activities of daily living or have sedentary lifestyles.

  • Pre-loaded hinge (up to 6 degrees of correction) incorporates flexion and extension control .
  • Single upright is malleable to allow for further load adjustments and features thigh and calf paddles to mitigate hinge rotation and ensure consistent off-loading through the range of motion.
  • Patella donut provides full- circumference stabilization.
  • Wraparound thigh and sleeve calf design facilitates ease of application/removal.
  • Breath-O-Prene fabric eliminates skin irritation and provides comfort by wicking away moisture.

Osteoarthritis- What it is and how bracing can help.

Osteoarthritis is often a by-product of overuse, trauma, an injury or just genetics. It occurs when the joint surface wears and tears, deteriorating the cartilage within the joint that allows the bones to move freely against each other.

In OA of the knee, the result can be the painful rubbing together of the femur (thigh bone) against the tibia (shin bone).

DonJoy OA braces alleviate pain through the application of corrective load against the knee joint. Simply put, the braces apply an opposing force against the knee, causing the joint to realign, thereby decreasing or eliminating the contact between the two bone surfaces.

The result is decreased pain and increased mobility. Note: The left medial hinge brace (Med - L) is for the patient with valgus OA in their left leg. This also fits the patient with varus OA in their right leg... right lateral hinge brace (Lat - R).

The brace hinge is on the opposite side to the affected compartment.
