The DonJoy Evenup Shoe Balancer Information

The Evenenup™ is a new and innovative device that helps equalize a patient's limb length and reduce body strain while walking in a cast or fracture boot. The Evenup is an easily removable and convenient fix for the frequent complaints of hip, knee, and back pain when using a high or low top walking boot.

  • The Evenup is very simple to apply and use.
  • Patient's that have walked for only a short time without an Evenup on the shorter limb will immediately notice the improvement in their balance and gait.
  • The Evenup comes in three sizes and two thicknesses.

A recent award winning study conducted at Temple University's Gait Lab showed that wearing the Evenup device causes the subject's gait to more closely resemble normal speed. It also showed that it may increase compliance in patients using a CAM walker due to perceived benefits of comfort and stability.

To determine appropriate size, measure the sole of the shoe from tip of the toe to the back of the heel. It is generally best to choose an Evenup a little too small rather than a little too big.

Small: 9.5" - 10.5 "
Medium: 10.75" - 11.5"
Large: 11.75" - 13.5"

Step 1. Cross your leg over the opposite knee. Pull the Evenup over the toe of the shoe.

Step 2. Pull up the back of the Evenup straps over the heel and adjust the side straps around the sole.

Step 3. Make sure the Evenup name faces out at the heel. Adjust the sle of the Evenup to center on the bottom of the sole.

Step 4. Pull the Velcro strap across the top of the foot and fasten to secure the Evenup.
